Monday- text corrections and sign reading test

Tuesday – grammar practice

Wednesday – vocabulary review

Thursday – thinking critically questions from the story

You child is also allowed to bring home the reading textbook so if you would like to review the story during the week you may do so.

Thank you to everyone who has remembered to sign the homework books every night. I appreciate the cooperation.

I feel that Room 2 had a wonderful first day of school. It is always a busy and tiring experience as students become adjusted to new routines and rules. However, I feel this group of students did an amazing job of listening and following directions. I truly think that we will have a great year together.

I know that the during the first week of school it seems that parents have more homework than students, but I appreciate everyone filling out all the paper work and returning it as soon as possible. The one request I do have is that all parents please sign your child’s homework book each night. I try to keep homework assignments light the first week or two as students get use to the routine again. Once students have had all their beginning of the year testing, I will begin sending spelling packets home weekly.

As always please feel free to write or call about any questions that you may have

I am so very excited to begin the new 2008-2009 school year. I know this will be a wonderful year and I am looking forward to getting to know all my new students and their families. Some of the activities the new third graders can look forward to doing this year are: enjoying a new reading program, learning about the human body, beginning to study multiplication facts, learning cursive, writing essays, studying communities, to name only a few

I know the beginning of the school year is exciting and stressful as students get to know their new classroom so please keep in touch with me through phone calls, emails, or notes.

I can’t wait to meet everyone
